Bass Rock is the largest single island gannet colony in the world and described by David Attenborough as “one of the twelve wildlife wonders of the world.” It is thought that gannets mate for life (40years) and return to the same nesting ground each year. On Bass Rock all stages of the breeding cycle can be seen, from the egg stage through to adulthood.
